Fabulous Field Trip!

Have you heard about the Boring Company and their plans for a high-speed underground transportation system? They are currently building a test tunnel right here in Hawthorne and offering tours to schools in the Los Angeles area. Some students in Core 5 got the opportunity to take that tour on October 10. Some things they learned include the following: It takes 1/14 the speed of a snail to build a tunnel, the dirt taken out is made into bricks that are donated and used to build insulated housing, once the tunnel is built it will only be 14 feet in diameter, and once it's up and running it will take cars through the tunnel at 120 mph for only one dollar!
Have a great week!
