A Message from our Dean of Students

Greetings Families,

We are officially done with state testing! Thank you for all the support, patience, and perseverance used in navigating this experience! We have barely met our required 95% participation rate with an overall participation rate of 95.7%. Yikes! We cut it especially close this year. I know that our families have a variety of philosophies around state testing, and we appreciate you participating in order to help us meet this important mandate! Schools that do not meet the participation requirement are subject to state oversight and "program improvement" labels, which could put at risk our autonomy and ability to create a school community with elements you are seeking for your child(ren).

Kindness Movement's Zones of Harmony Project
Hey DV Connect! Something amazing is emerging and growing just outside of the Core 3 classroom! The Core 3 kiddos, who created the kindness benches that youíve seen around campus, and the Kindness Movement have started planning and planting a tranquility garden! Welcome to the Zones of Harmony Project! This project stemmed from Core 3 and the Kindness Movementís vision of having a place on campus where individuals can go to de-stress, feel calmness and inclusion, and connect with each other and with nature..., and they would like to invite you and your family to be a part of it! A solar fountain, Zen garden with kindness rocks, and a mural that the entire DV Connect campus will be a part of are all in the works! Please sign up here if you would like to help. (This signup genius will be updated each week.)

More updates and and information about this exciting project to come, so please stay tuned! Thank you!
Middle School Dance
Unfortunately, there wasn't enough student involvement to plan a dance this spring so this week's dance is cancelled. We hope to have more student leaders emerge next year so that we can have a Fall and Spring dance!

You may recall from all those many months ago at the start of the school year that we collected your child(ren)ís disposable Care & Comfort ziplock baggies in case of an emergency. As noted, the bins will be emptied and all packages will be discarded at the close of the school year. As a courtesy, for one day only, we will have the bins near the chalkboard door for any parent wishing to go through and pick up their childís package.
