From Our Principal

Greetings Families,

It's hard to believe we are already upon Thanksgiving Break. Our staff is so thankful for each of you, for your children, and for your partnership with us in your family's education through homeschooling. Please be sure to check out the list below of what our staff is grateful for this year.

I would like to request that you please take 10 minutes to complete our Fall Survey. I send this out each year and I read every response. We believe in reflection and the feedback loop, so your ideas matter to us! I only ask this--please be kind, specific and helpful. This is a mantra we believe in, one that we try to live by and model, and one we use because we find it easier to hear feedback when it's delivered using kind words, specific information (versus broad generalizations) and intended to be helpful, not hurtful. Thank you in advance! You can find our survey here.

Don't forget these important events coming up (more info in the blurbs below):
Middle School Dance (Nov 30)
Parent Educator Conference #2 (Dec 5)--more than 15 unique workshops designed to support you! Workshop topics and descriptions coming soon!
Exhibition (Dec 10, 11 and 12, 5:00-6:30)

In beginning to plan for our Parent Educator Conference #2 on Wednesday, December 5, we are examining the effectiveness of our Career Speaker Series for students. After PEC #1, we held our first Career Speaker Series, which, while meaningful and helpful for those who attended, yielded low attendance. We want to make sure that this event is meaningful for both our guest speakers and student audiences! In order to best plan future Career Speaker Series events, we would appreciate your feedback here.
Also, I know that many of you have received promos and contact from Tree Ring, the company we used for yearbooks last year. While you can ignore their emails for now, we will be using Tree Ring for yearbooks this year. More info to come soon. :)

Enjoy your break!

Thanksgiving Break
Monday-Friday, Nov 19-23

We Are Full of Gratitude!
As we head into Thanksgiving Break, we hope that your plans include time spent with family and friends, maybe an adventure or two, and some time to just be still and soak it all in. There is so much to be thankful for, and for the staff at DV Connect, this community is at the top of our gratitude list. Some things we are especially grateful for are:
  • Students who provide endless laughs, meaning, and joy.
  • The environment that Da Vinci Connect provides for its students, parent educators, and teachers.
  • Being part of this community and learning from outstanding coworkers, students, administrators, and families each day!
  • Awesome families and our wonderful Connected community!
  • How our collaborative and enthusiastic families approach learning with their students!
  • This partnership with families on their child's educational journey for our 8th year!
  • The outstanding leadership and dedication we receive in support of teachers, families, and students!
  • The curiosity students bring with them to campus daily!
  • The opportunity to work with encouraging students and families.
  • The Da Vinci Connect community and all of the life-enriching ways we support each other.
  • Our school community. Coming to Da Vinci Connect every day is a motivating experience!
  • This fun journey that we are taking with our students, exploring our world. We are all growing together as human beings.
  • All the ways we see students here treat each other with kindness and thoughtfulness
Please enjoy your break, and we can't wait to see you next week!
