From Our Dean of Students

Welcome back from what I hope was a restful and satisfying Thanksgiving Break! I spent as much time cuddled up as humanly possible :) I hope you did something that fills your bucket!

In our last newsletter, I asked for feedback regarding the launch of our Speakers Series for students (please refer to Nov. 16th newsletter for details). Many of you pointed out that the link did not work! My apologies! Thank you to those of you who attempted to provide feedback. The link now works correctly, and you can provide that feedback here. Thank you!

These next two weeks are JAM-packed with good stuff! Don't miss out on information below regarding our Middle School Dance for 6th-8th graders, an update (WITH WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS, WOOHOO!) about PEC #2 next week, as well as some important information regarding Exhibition and our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair!

Coming Up...

December 10 (M/Th), 11 (T/F), and 12 (Collaborative) from 5:00-6:30 pm
Exhibition is an extremely exciting time for students and families. In addition to being a mandatory event, it is one of the many "show what you know" opportunities and signature practices offered by Da Vinci Schools. Please remember to support your child in choosing a presentation outfit that matches "Exhibition Attire". You can see what that looks like HERE. We can't wait to see the learning and beautiful work that students will showcase!

Attention 8th Grade Families!
On December 13, 6:30-8:00pm the Da Vinci high schools will hold an 8th Grade Info Night for Dana and Connect middle school families at the Dana Middle School Multi-Purpose Room. Flyers went home with your students! Also, on January 23 and 30 the high schools will offer tours and sign ups will be available soon.

DV Connect Cares!
Toy Drive Now-Dec. 12!
What better way to kick-off the holiday season than with a toy drive hosted by the Los Angeles Air Force Base! DV Connect Cares was contacted by Lt. Kenneth Bautista of the LA AFB, and he asked us if we would be interested in donating toys for their Toy Give-Away event. Please bring a NEW/unopened, unwrapped toy and drop it in the holiday-decorated, turquoise bin in the office starting this week! We will be collecting toys until Wednesday, December 12! Our donated toys will be given to children by Santa and Mrs. Claus at an event at the San Pedro AFB on Sat. 12/15, that includes photo ops and an ice skating rink! 'Tis the season for giving back with those who have given so much to those who need it most! Wishing you and your families a very joyous and peace-giving holiday season!!! Sincerely, DV Connect Cares??????
