Greetings, DVIA Families!
From Our Principal

Greetings Families,

We have enjoyed having students and families back on campus this week.

I want to draw your attention to our spring Film Festival next Wednesday afternoon! There's a blurb below with more information. It is going to be an awesome event! Thank you to our FANtastic parent Jennifer Racusin for organizing this event! My family will be there and I hope you will be too!

This season, our country is being hit by a pretty nasty flu season as well as various colds and stomach bugs. For the safety of all students, if your child is showing symptoms of a cold, flu or other contagious illness, please be sure to keep him/her at home until he/she is no longer contagious and can navigate a busy day at school comfortably. If your child reads or does light homeschooling, you can log it in your work journal and doesn't need to lose attendance credit. So many families have expressed relief at not needing to feel pressured to attend school when sick--this is one of the beauties of independent study! For more information about DVIA's Illness Policy, please see our handbook or contact Emily Green, Da Vinci School's nurse.

Also, please be on the look out for another newsletter I will be sending later today with some reflections and updates about our program.

Thank you and have a great weekend,
M_Rainey sig
