Greetings DVIA Families!

A Few Words From Our Director

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for joining us this past week to celebrate our students' learning during Student Led Conferences! In so many schools, the opportunity for students to be the driver of such thoughtful conversations is so rare. Thank you for spending time listening to your kiddos talk about their learning!

This week I will spend a few days in Sacramento representing DVIA at the California Charter Schools Association conference. Each year, this event renews my passion for what it means to be part of the charter school movement. Thank you for supporting choice in education by being part of DVIA!

Lastly, summer camp signups are now available! Please see the blurb below and sign up in the front office.

Have a great week!

Tyler's Two Cents

tyler two cents Families,

I want to let you all know that starting this week, we will be kicking off our "Cans for a Composter" drive. Led by the efforts of parent Johanna Mytko, we are asking families to donate empty cans and bottles that can be recycled in order to raise money for a composter at school.

Additionally, parent Rick Olson, has graciously created a large thermometer that will be placed next to the chalkboard door at school. It will track the progress of the donations. It is our goal that by Earth Day (Wednesday, April 22nd) we will have raised enough funds to purchase a composter which will help promote environmental awareness to our students.

We need everyone's help to reach this goal so please bring your empty cans and bottles and drop them off in the garbage bins located under the thermometer by the chalkboard door!

Have a great week!
