Greetings, DVIA Families!
A Few Words from Our Principal
Greetings Families!

I'm so excited for Exhibition this week! The energy from students and families as we appreciate the learning across campus is one of my favorite aspects of our program! Please be sure to visit all classrooms, including our Collaborative classroom (accessed near the front entrance up the stairs).

As a reminder, Da Vinci Science, Design and Communications are also celebrating their Exhibitions this week. DV Science's Exhibition will take place on Wednesday; DV Design and Communications' Exhibition will take place on Thursday (all from 6-8pm). These evenings are an excellent opportunity to get a glimpse of the great work students do at our high schools! Also, the 9th graders at DV Design have worked all year on projects to enhance the campus for our arrival in August 2018. Go check out the cool things they are planning for us!

On that note--a facilities update! The Wiseburn/Da Vinci Schools high school building is on track for opening in August 2017. This means that next year DVIA will spread out a bit on the Science campus (but stay primarily located at our current site). The plan is for some renovations to take place at the Design campus next year in preparation for our arrival in August 2018. Lots of exciting changes to come!

Looking forward to seeing you all this week!

From Our Dean of Students

Our Core 1 teacher, Kelly Ann, is out on maternity leave! We are excited for her family as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world! Because of this, Core 1 held their Exhibition one week early, and I loved hearing our kindergarten students walk me through the functions of their Rube Goldberg machines! I am always blown away by the deep understanding, use of rich vocabulary, and professional presentation skills that even our youngest students showcase during Exhibition!

With that being said, I am looking forward to continuing the excitement at our school wide Exhibition tomorrow and Tuesday! As a reminder, please engage as an active audience member by refraining from using cell phones, keeping little ones with you at all times, and providing our presenters with feedback and questions! We look forward to seeing you there. :)
What You Need to Know This Week!

Work Journal #4 Due
Tuesday, April 4 @ 4:15pm
Work journals are due to the main office by 4:15pm. This work journal deadline is especially important to our auditing process. We must process every work journal in time to submit every day of attendance possible to the state this month. Our budget for next year depends on it! Thank you!

Did You Know...
...the Learning Goals listed on your child's work journal (AKA the Common Core State Standards) are explained on the parent educator resource website? From the homepage, choose "Learning Goals" on the top menu, then choose the area you want to better understand and then your child's level. (If you're just getting started choose your child's grade level, but go up or down from there to find where your child really is.)

Have a great week!
