Greetings, DVIA Families!
From Our Principal

Greetings Families!

I am very excited to share the news that our Collaborative Program teacher, Ethel, is a mom! She has beautiful twin daughters named Flynn Jane and Evan Bay! Born May 5th, mom and babies are doing well and Ethel and her husband are ecstatic!

I want to acknowledge all of the students and parents who worked so hard to make our Talent Showcase happen! We have an amazing group of kiddos and very supportive parents! A special thanks to the following parents who helped organize, set up, run and clean up: Lisa Aitken, Melanie Arvonio, Lorrie Boston, Lori Bowker, Tricia Carnival, Tanya Dalgaard, Valerie Hennessy, Stephanie and Karah Lee, Erin McDonough, Jennifer Racusin, Andrea and Jan Stolpe, Tasneem Sutarwala, Jennifer Vlasman and Kristie Zurek!

Lastly, please note the following about the first day of school next year: The first official day of school next fall is a homeschool day--Wednesday, August 16th. We have heard your feedback about trying to front load the year with a PEC-type experience before school starts with more work journal type meetings during the school year. Therefore, please save the date for August 14th and 15th--you will be asked to attend one of those dates with the option of attending the second date if you wish to attend additional workshops. Stay tuned for more details but please calendar the following:

Monday, August 14th: Jump start the new year with workshops and connecting activities! (You will attend either Monday or Tuesday)
Tuesday, August 15th: Same as Monday above
Wednesday, August 16th: First day of School: Homeschool day for all programs/cohorts
Thursday, August 17th: First day of on-campus school for M/Th cohort, homeschool for T/F and Collaborative* families
Friday, August 18th: First day of on-campus school for T/F cohort, homeschool for M/Th and Collaborative* families
*Collaborative class/workshop offerings and schedule will be determined in August

I hope you had a great weekend.
