Greetings DVIA Families!
A Few Words From Our Director
I had the pleasure of representing our school at this year's California Consortium for Independent Study conference. It's truly inspiring to be among hundreds of educators who are collaborating to improve schooling options for students in California. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to represent all of you!
I hope to see your family at this Friday's movie night! We always have a great time together. I do need to ask that you please keep your kiddos with you and engaged throughout the entirety of the movie. If they are reaching their limit and need to leave, that's okay! Last year some of our evening events (Movie Night, Talent Show) unraveled when lots of kiddos began playing tag across campus and while the action was still happening. It was hard for others to stay engaged and in the darkness, safety was a concern. Please make sure to directly supervise your kiddos throughout the event. Thanks!
Thank you for all you do and enjoy your week!
A Message From Our Dean of Students
Thank you to each family who donated clothing to the Malala Fund, and thank you to those families who donated boxes because we had more clothes than containers! We were able to donate over two cars full of clothing (29 boxes). THANK YOU!!
We hope you didn't give away too many sweaters, though, with cooler weather finally here! Hooray! With rain coming (hopefully) and construction on local roads (especially Aviation Blvd.), please make a plan to get your students to school safely and on time. :)
Have a great week!
