Greetings DVIA Families!

A Few Words From Our Director

Hello Everyone!

I trust you#39;ve had a lovely Spring Break with a chance for rejuvenation. The staff enjoyed spending Exhibition with you and is looking forward to greeting your kiddos again this week!

I want to let you know that I will be hosting a LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) meeting for all interested families next Monday and Tuesday, April 20th and 21st from 9:30-10:30am. At this time we will review our progress this year and look toward revisions for 2015-2016. Please RSVP to me if you plan to attend so that I can have enough materials ready. Thanks!

I also want to ask you to keep an eye out for an update coming in the next few days with some information about next year. This is the time of year when we begin to reflect and revise and plan for any staffing, enrollment and facilities needs. I shared the information with families who attended "Donuts with the Director" before break and will also be visiting Cores 3 and 4 early this week, as those students will be most affected. The feedback from parents so far has been positive so I feel confident about the beneficial impact this will have on our students' experience at DVIA.

Have a great week!

Tyler's Two Cents

tyler two cents Families,

I sincerely hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. After four years of service to DVIA, I wanted to let you all know that my family and I have made the decision to leave DVIA after this school year. With a third child on the way (any day now), we have decided that we will be relocating to Temecula (where I grew up) in June. It has truly been an honor to get to know you and your families througout the years, and I am extremely humbled by having had the opportunity to teach and supervise your kids. I wanted to let everyone know with a few months left in school, so that I will get the opportunity to say goodbye to many of you. Thank you for the many kind words throughout the years; it has truly been an honor!

Have a great week!

What you need to know this week:

Can you help us spice up lunchtime play?

We are looking for volunteers who can donate time or materials to make lunchtime play more fun for our kiddos. This is the time of year when kids need a change. We have some ideas but would love your help! Can you donate materials such as board games, play dough (store bought or home made), scrapbook materials, beads or jewelry making materials, coloring books, crayons/markers, spin art or other craft materials? Can you volunteer to work a game or craft table? Can you volunteer to teach a new game (physical activity or tabletop game)? Can you volunteer to wash our picnic blankets? If so, please contact Michelle. Thank you!
