Greetings DVIA Families!

A Few Words From Our Principal

Hello everyone!

May the 4th be with you (aka Star Wars Day)!

A huge thank you to all the families and community members who spent their Saturday beautifying campus and working on the new marble run!  There are improvements and cleaner spaces all over campus!  We had a great time and on behalf of the students and staff at DVIA, thank you for your support. A huge thank you to the following:

The Brogi Family

The Brown Family

The Conyers Family

The Flissinger Family

The Howard Family

The Johnson Family

The Marble Family

The Nesbitt Family

The Yeh Family

The Yu/Bear Family

We will have another day in June to restore the grass on the field so that it can spend the summer growing and preparing for kids again in the fall.  Additionally, we will hold a Family Work Day in August to kick off the year.  Hope to see you there!

Tyler's Two Cents

tyler two cents

The state of California is piloting a new version of the CST this year known as the CAASP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress). This assessment will be administered to all Core 3-5 students.

The assessment itself consists of 3 main sections: Non-performance tasks in ELA and Math, a classroom activity (30 minutes) and a Performance task. The Performance task and Non-Performance task will be administered on the computer with universal assessments built in (such as magnification, notepad, glossary for some terms, etc) to support all kids along with embedded accommodations for students with IEPs.

California is only piloting the test questions and functionality of their online system this year, so no formal reports or data will be provided to students or school districts as a result of these assessments. If you would like more information, please email me.

As always at DVIA, we strive to support your children in any testing environment to make it as smooth and insouciant as possible.

Thank you and have a great week!
