Friday's tragic events at LAX are a sad reminder that bad things happen in our world, and I want to take this opportunity to share with you all we've done and continue to do at school, just in case anything unexpected happens here.
Already this year we've held both a fire drill and an earthquake drill. Also, Tyler, Jose and I attended a Crisis Intervention professional development training recently. We also take every instance of suspicious local activities as an opportunity to practice our emergency procedures. With this practice, we are confident that in a true emergency, we have a coordinated response ready to go.
We thank you for trusting us with your children and we take that responsibility very seriously.
Have a great week!
Tyler's Two Cents
Thank you for your support last month helping our students reflect (yes, pun intended) on their feelings about the Habit of Heart & Mind (HoHM) Reflection. For the next six weeks, we will be highlighting the habit of Perseverance.
We define perseverance as "working toward a goal and not giving up." Please help your children incorporate thsi habit by having conversations at home with your child/children about perseverance and its importance.
Please also submit photos of your students demonstrating perseverance by 11/15, so that I can add them to our monthly HoHM display.
To your unlimited perseverance!
