Greetings DVIA Families!
A Few Words From Our Director
It's hard to believe there is only one week left before winter break. We have enjoyed an awesome time with your kiddos so far this year.
It is, however, with sadness that I share the following: When we return from winter break, two of our staff members will not be with us. Our Inclusion Specialist, Michael Ehrhorn, and our front office clerk, Micah Larsen, will both be relocating. We wish them both the best of luck in their future endeavors and will miss them. On behalf of DVIA staff and families, thank you for all you've done for us Michael and Micah! Families, if you see Michael or Micah, take a moment to tell them goodbye and best wishes!
And never fear, we have some great candidates lined up for those positions, so we will be A-okay next semester!
Thank you and enjoy your week!
A Message From Our Dean of Students
I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the families who help us keep our campus functional and beautiful!
We still need help with two items:
* using a wheelbarrow to relocate sand from the front yard to the dumpster
* relocating/re-hanging the metal frame with our DVIA banner
Also, don't forget that your students' school photos are available for purchase, and just in time for the holidays! Use this link
to access to the photos. From there, navigate to your student's cohort and enter the password 10409. Expedited processing and shipping for ~$6 is available for Christmas, but only if you order by 12/14. Thereafter, a slightly higher fee applies to expedite.
A big shout out to Stacee Lianna for taking such incredible photos of our students!
Also, thank you for your patience regarding school IDs. Those will be available shortly after we return from winter break.
Have a great week!
What you need to know this week:
Mark your calendar! Coming up soon:
High School Meeting With Principals & Student Panel
Wed, Jan 20th | 3 pm to 4:30 pm
Attention 8th grade families! You have an opportunity to meet with the principals from our three high schools and several members of our CMO in late January. The principals will be available to share more about their respective programs and answer questions. A student panel will also be available to share their high school experience.
Winter Break--No School
December 21-January 8
The DVIA teaching staff will be participating in professional development during the week of January 4-8. We will be reflecting on our year so far and planning next semester's projects. We look forward to greetings you back for the second half of our year starting January 11th!
Please Claim These Items from the Office
A large sleeping bag (possibly from Core 4/5 camp) and various games from Family Game Night have been sitting in the office for weeks. Please claim before winter break-THANKS!
There is now a box in the office where you can recycle old markers, instead of throwing them away. This program is sponsored by Crayola, but they accept all brands. Thanks for keeping your old markers out of the landfills!
Have a great week!
