Greetings, DVIA Families!
From Our Principal

Greetings Families!

I truly enjoyed seeing so many of you at our Autumn Festival this evening! Square dancing, pumpkin decorating, chili and dessert! Yes please! And our students made some really fun carnival games...we have a creative bunch of families! Nice work everyone and a huge thank you to all of the FAN families who coordinated the event, provided materials and food, set up and cleaned up afterwards.

I am excited to make a few staffing announcements. Last month I shared that Ethel Brown, DVIA's middle school Collaborative teacher, decided not to return this year in order to stay home with her twin daughters. I have the privilege of announcing that Jennifer Johnson, who has been Ethel's long term substitute since August, will be joining the DVIA staff as a permanent teacher! Welcome aboard Jennifer! You will also see a some new faces as DVIA has on-boarded a few more academic coaches to support students in classes. We are also excited to have the a group of really awesome Da Vinci Extension students join who will be fulfilling their internships supporting our school in various capacities.

Lastly, we have a new way for you to connect with fellow DVIA homeschoolers via a new Fieldtrip focused Yahoo group! Thank you to parent Sahala Smith for organizing it. Check out the "Did You Know?" section below to subscribe and be sure to also be a member of the DVIA main Yahoo group too!

Have a great week!

Hello Families!

I can finally feel a little fall chill in the air! It is such an exciting time of year. Our Fall Festival was a blast on the 13th--thank you to our FAN Families who hosted! I'd love to see any photos or videos from all the square dancing!

I have really enjoyed seeing our collaborative families begin their first rounds of SLCs, and I am excited for our hybrid families to engage in their SLCs on Monday and Tuesday! Remember that these days are home school days for everyone.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the season of pumpkin everything!
